A Guide to TRIMEN’s Scent Families

TRIMEN attar boxes collage

Every TRIMEN attar sits inside one of six scent families, and knowing them makes choosing — or gifting — far less guesswork. Here’s the short version of each.

Woody. Cedar, sandalwood, and vetiver-forward compositions with a dry, grounded character. TRIMEN CEDAR is the clearest expression of this family — clean, modern, and quietly masculine without trying hard to be.

Oud. Deep, resinous, and smoky, built around aged agarwood. TRIMEN OUD and TRIMEN VELVET both live here, though Velvet softens the raw intensity of oud with amber and spice for easier daily wear.

Oriental. Warm, spiced, and enveloping — think amber, musk, and incense-adjacent notes. TRIMEN MUSK and TRIMEN ROYALE both draw from this family, one leaning skin-close and quiet, the other more polished and floral-oriental.

Floral. Rose, saffron-tinged petals, and soft botanical notes, refined rather than sweet. TRIMEN ROYALE crosses into this territory too, which is part of why it reads as more “occasion” than everyday.

Spicy. Saffron, pepper, and warm spice at the front of the composition. TRIMEN SAFFRON is built entirely around this brightness, balanced with rose and soft woods underneath.

Sweet. Resin, honeyed amber, and soft musk with real depth rather than sugary top notes. TRIMEN AMBER anchors this family with golden resin warmth over a quiet musk base.

If you’re unsure where to start, our Attar Finder on the homepage asks one question and points you to a match — but the families above are worth knowing regardless, since most people end up wearing two or three across a season.
